Alain Rouillard, Pharm.D., Ph.D.
Dr. Rouillard is the Founder, President, and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Autarcycle since its foundation in 2009.
He obtained his Ph.D. in Chemistry in 2003 under the supervision of Pr. Pierre Deslongchamps at the Université de Sherbrooke. There, he helped to develop new synthetic methods which were published in peer-reviewed journals and ever since cited in the literature.
As an organic synthesis specialist, throughout his early career, he participated in several chemical synthesis programs for various big pharma companies (Merck, Servier, AstraZeneca), small biotechs (Tranzyme Pharma, CIMF), and contract research organizations (CROs) (OmegaChem), leading to several patents and publications in peer-reviewed journals and real life application of chemical synthesis.
While working on the foundation of the Autarcycle company, Dr. Rouillard obtained his Pharm.D. in 2015, closing the loop of the pharmaceutical industry, from basic research to the clinical distribution of its products.
His extensive scientific expertise in the pharmaceutical industry and hard work, applied to the development of durable and environmentally acceptable automated micro-production technology, yielded the development of a new patented chemical process that allowed the development of an entirely automated biofuel micro-factory. The lead product that is set to drive Autarcycle’s growth.
His vision of a debt-free company that fulfills its social, scientific, and technological mission, free from external influence, and his patience have ensure Autarcycle longevity by creating an important Polymath Private IP Portfolio.
